Electrical Engineer
Job Description Kelly Services is recruiting an Electrical Engineer for a major client in the Michigan City, Indiana area.
The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for supporting all existing products and manufacturing processes as it relates to all electrical and control systems and designs used in all products, including control systems relating to diesel engines.
This position will focus on improving safety, quality, on-time customer delivery and efficiency of manufacturing operations while reducing manufacturing-s cost.
Will collaborate with suppliers in resolving quality issues, improving designs and reducing costs.
Position Responsibility:
(Entry Level to Two Years- Experience)Design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on cost, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.
Collaborates with Product Engineering supporting electrical requirements on engineered orders meeting customer requirements, creates wiring schematics and Bill of Materials accordingly Supports Procurement by creating accurate component prints, identifying alternative components and suppliers, and answering technical questions from vendors(Three to Five Years- Experience - Exhibits additional competence with)Interacts with Production and Quality leadership supporting troubleshooting production and vendor quality related issues improving operational performance.
This will include drawing corrections, bill of material corrections, and troubleshooting compressors in the test cellsSupports aftermarket issues by troubleshooting compressors in the field, component identification and verification of solutionParticipates in new engineering development projects by assisting in selection of Motors, Starters, Variable speed drives (VSD), design of control and power circuits.
Support quality by identifying root cause of component failure, performing UL and CSA audits, and updating component prints that are out of dateDesigns, sizes and integrates electrical devices and systems supporting production and customer applicationsTroubleshoots integrated design systems Requirements Position Requirements:
Bachelor-s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a ABET accredited college; MS or MBA a plusEntry level to Five Years- applied electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; compressor or industrial machinery industry knowledge a plusKnowledge/experience in the design of electrical control and power systems and electric motors and variable speed drives (VSD's) and SAE J1939, UL508, CSA, NEC and CEDemonstrated experience and ability to lead, facilitate, organize and work effectively with cross functional teams, departments to execute the necessary resultsStrong verbal and written communication, presentation and team building skills with all levels in the organizationDemonstrated ability to work very effectively within a team / cross functional teams and meet deadlines without sacrificing qualityHands on, self-starter with working knowledge CAN Bus or similar systems a plusSix Sigma Green/Black a plus Why Kelly ?At Kelly Services , we work with the best.
