Pest Control Service Technician

We're looking to hire 2-3 candidates to expand our service crew at our Michigan City branch. If you meet the requirements listed below and are local to the Michigan City area, please submit your resume to us for review!

JOB TITLE: Pest Management Specialist
REPORTS TO: Service Manager and Branch Manager
DEPARTMENT: Service
SUPERVISES: N/A
EDUCATION: Minimum High School diploma or GED required. College students and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. Licensed technicians or individuals with experience in route management are preferred, however ALL applicants will be considered.
Experience:
Customer service experience preferred. Route management experience preferred. No pest control experience necessary. Training provided.
MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual and auditory acuity, working outdoors in all types of weather, and sharp driving skills. Applicants must have a clean MVR, be able to pass a drug-screen, ability to solve customer issues/complaints, able to perform job with minimal supervision, previous route experience preferred; drivers/messengers, etc.
Job Description:
Perform pest control duties as instructed/required at both commercial and residential locations on a daily basis with minimal supervision
HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday-Friday varied hours between 6am-6pm, Varied Saturdays (one Saturday per month off guaranteed during Spring/Summer months) 8am-3pm
COMPENSATION: Hourly pay during training period, then production commission TBD

JOB
Summary:
Working in professional pest management is so much more than controlling pest problems. It's also building relationships with customers and educating them about how to reduce the pest problems in their homes or businesses. You are the face of the company! You don't need any prior experience. Rose has comprehensive training programs that incorporate both classroom and on-the-job learning to ensure you have all the knowledge necessary to perform the job well. Technicians conduct inspections, correct pest control problems by applying product, baiting and monitoring, and communicate regularly with office personnel and the sales team to ensure top quality customer service. A high school diploma or G.E.D., good communication skills, a clean driving record, ability to pass a drug screening, a stable work history and a genuine desire to learn the pest control business is required. May be required to work some Saturdays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
1. Polite, friendly customer service
2. Route organization and appointment scheduling
3. Inside/outside sales
4. Integrated Pest Management practices including inspections, critical thinking to provide solutions to various pest problems, and application of pest control products
5. Daily Reports
6. Managing a route of residential and commercial customers assigned by manager
7. Ability to work cohesively with team of office staff, and sales staff to ensure work completion
8. Collecting payments from customers visited
9. Various other tasks approved by branch manager

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
