We are currently looking for a DC Manager at our Michigan City, IN Warehouse POSITION SUMMARY The DC Manager will initiate, direct, coordinate and monitor assigned individual and team activities that promote the highest levels of Customer Service and Continuous Improvement in our Key Performance Areas - Safety, Quality, On-Time Performance, Productivity, Profitability, and Team Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Manage daily warehouse operations.
Manage staff including recruiting, training, onboarding, coaching and discipline.
Process timesheets and time off requests for personnel.
Drive process improvement and standardization across all locations.
Ensure effective and safe use of equipment.
Ensure all procedures are followed.
Drive continuous improvement and ensure lean processes are followed.
Safely operate a forklift and train and certify warehouse personnel as needed.
Conduct safety meetings monthly with warehouse team.
Produce reports and analyze results.
Develop performance goals and objectives to ensure accuracy, quality and customer expectations are met.
Create and maintain training logs and safety check lists.
Cover responsibilities when associates have scheduled time off.
This person will be the face of Bay Logistics, and the primary point of contact and accountability for our client.
QUALIFICATIONS A proven, successful track record in distribution center operations management.
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
Warehouse management system expertise, at least two years of experience.
Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
